A large cultural painting and participatory video that encompasses teachings of belonging, mastery, independence, and generosity was produced by North Shore youth and facilitated by Chris Wheeler. This mentorship and life skills project was a positive experience for the youth, exposing them to traditional First Nations customs and culture. The project successfully brought together youth and community members. By using a participatory video method, these youths views about their community and their cultural experience are documented for others to see. For information on the great community work Hollyburn Family Services Society is doing see: hollybun.ca. I have also developed a Hollyburn Youtube page for them.
