During its final day, The Paralympic Torch Relay travels from Robson Square celebrations in downtown Vancouver to BC Place for the Opening Ceremony! Torch Reporter Chris Wheeler follows the flame around Vancouver, stops in for a coffee at Cafe Artigiano and visits the Vancouver Art Gallery before viewing some sledge hockey at Robson Square. He then follows the flame as it journeys on a Sea King helicopter, two naval ships and a Zodiac boat to the Opening Ceremony!

The 10-day inspirational journey of the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Torch Relay began on March 3, 2010 in Ottawa and visited several Canadian Celebration Sites along its route to Vancouver, BC

The Paralympic Torch Relay starts its last 24 hours with a First Nation blessing on Musqueam Territory before travelling around downtown Vancouver. Torch Reporter Chris Wheeler follows the flame and visits the Museum of Anthropology and the Granville Room before seeing Roberto Luongo carry the torch and light the cauldron at Robson Square

The Paralympic Torch Relay arrives in Squamish, British Columbia, the outdoor recreation capital of Canada! Torch Reporter Chris Wheeler journeys with the flame around Squamish and hits up a single track mountain bike ride before hearing torchbearer stories of determination, inspiration, courage and equality.

The Paralympic Torch Relay arrives in BC! Torch Relay Reporter Chris Wheeler joins the Norwegian Wheelchair Curling Team to learn more about the sport before he sees the flame travel from Esquimalt to Victoria where he speaks with Rick Hansen the “Man in Motion”!

Run with Chris Wheeler on the last day of the Olympic Torch Relay! The flame journeys around Vancouver through Stanley Park, English Bay, Robson Square, Yaletown and ends with a cauldron lighting at the First Nation Pavilion. The Fist Nation Fire Attendants then take the flame to the Opening Ceremony for the beginning of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.

The Olympic Torch Relay travelled around Canada for 106 days, 45,000 kms, through 1100 communities, and was carried by 12,000 Torchbearers. It was an experience of a lifetime chasing the flame around Canada. Now the Olympics are here and Vancouver welcomes the world! Chris spends the second last day of the Olympic Torch Relay chasing the Flame through the streets of Vancouver. Watch as huge crowds of Vancouver residents line the streets to cheer on and run with some very special Canadian torchbearers. The Olympic Torch Relay and Chris Wheeler journey through North Vancouver from Lynn Canyon to Grouse Mountain where it travels to the peak of Vancouver! There are some pleasant surprises in the travels of the flame two days before the Vancouver 2010 Olympics!

Chris kicks off his day by learning to make Olympic-themed cupcakes at the beachfront community of White Rock, British Columbia. He then catches up with the Olympic Flame as it travels through the historic fishing village of Steveston. Chris ends his day by joining a large and enthusiastic crowd to watch Man In Motion Rick Hansen light the Richmond Celebration cauldron.

Chris spends part of his morning as a guest of the Sto:Lo Nation in Mission, British Columbia. He tours the original 9,000 year-old village site and the Xa:ytem Longhouse before turning his hand to make a traditional First Nations drum. Chris then heads to Domaine de Chaberton Estate Winery in Langley where he learns the art of fine winemaking from the Fraser Valley’s oldest and largest winery. He remains in Langley to catch up with the Olympic Flame at that community’s Torch Relay Celebration.

Chris catches up with the Olympic Flame in Hope, British Columbia. While there, he learns the art of carving wood with a chainsaw from master carver Pete Ryan. Watch those wood chips fly! Chris then travels on to Chilliwack, where he witnesses the Flame being transported on a motorcycle!
